Sack Andrew – Save Coventry RFU

It’s a sad endictment of the modern game.

While the RFU can spend 300k+ on Rob Andrew to do whatever it is he does including some highly dubious management on the tour to New Zealand, Coventry RFU are going to the wall.

Established in 1874, their heyday was in the 60s and 70s but in recent years they have maintained their status as an important feeder club (notably to Leicester).

Internationals such as David Duckham and Fran Cotton were Coventry men. Their international honours board is impressive. More recently players to have passed through their ranks include Richard Cockerill, Andy Goode, Danny Grewcock, Shaun Perry and other.

The club has one week to raise a £100,000 bond to stay in National Division One. Otherwise they will be relegated to the lower leagues and “effectively put out of business”.

So, come on RFU. Sack Andrew, save Coventry.
