English club rugby in regular terrestial slot shock…

Thank goodness…

The new English season was about to start and I had the biggest bout of antipathy ever witnessed at the start of the season by a genuine rugby fan.

But fear not.

No more BBC highlights every third week of every month with a k in it.

ITV have it and have it regular like.

And thoughts?

Well, I was going to go to the London double header but didn’t. Wasps peak at the right time and do not worry about slow starts.  Harlequins are going to be in the mix regularly. Of the club shirts that I hold, Leicester looked tedious, Bath looked ok. For me, Northampton hold the post-first week promise. The coaching team of Mallinder and West sound good, the team looked good and, from a highlight-observer’s perspective, their team offered the most positives – Dylan Hartley looked good, my first observations of Chris Ashton were hughly promising (potent, looking to support, looking for work, etc), and good to see Jon Clarke back from injury and looking impressive.

We’re back in the game.
